And now for your daily dose of “Wait, what?” This much is a certainty that Windows 10 build 9901 was meant for internal use only, and not for public consumption. Until it was leaked
But it does come with some rather odd changes.
Sure, it’s all a work in progress right now, but it appears that Microsoft is trying some new tricks here.
Thanks to the Windows Insider program and the ability to provide direct feedback to Redmond, users have asked for the moon when it comes the desktop environment of Windows 10. Okay not the moon but asking for a dock is taking things close enough.
More so, when we do have a fully functional taskbar in the operating system.
A fully functional, and seemingly a flat and solid taskbar — as build 9901 comes with a visual change that may not entirely please everyone.
It is not possible to add transparency to the taskbar in this particular build of Windows 10, meaning you get the same solid color with a flat look, no matter how you configure this feature. Previous iterations of the operating system provided an option in the Personalization screen to adjust color intensity.
But here, the color intensity settings only affect the title bar of each window, not the taskbar.
We can totally chalk this to Microsoft trying something new, testing it out in an internal build, but with users asking the company to implement more transparency in the OS, a move like this does stand out.
It does stand out, alright.
